In <a href=\"https:\/\/www.anthropic.com\/news\/detecting-and-preventing-distillation-attacks\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">an announcement on Monday<\/a>, Anthropic says the &#8220;industrial-scale campaigns&#8221; involved the creation of around 24,000 fraudulent accounts and more than 16 million exchanges with Claude, as reported <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/tech\/ai\/anthropic-accuses-chinese-companies-of-siphoning-data-from-claude-63a13afc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">earlier by <em>The Wall Street Journal<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">The three companies &#8211; DeepSeek, MiniMax, and Moonshot &#8211; are accused of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ibm.com\/think\/topics\/knowledge-distillation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">&#8220;distilling&#8221; Claude<\/a>, or training a smaller AI model based on a more advanced one.
