The change comes as the tech giant faces a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/tech\/889152\/google-gemini-ai-wrongful-death-lawsuit\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wrongful death lawsuit<\/a> alleging its chatbot &#8220;coached&#8221; a man to die by suicide, the latest in a string of lawsuits alleging <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/news\/858102\/characterai-google-teen-suicide-settlement\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">tangible<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/news\/831207\/openai-chatgpt-lawsuit-parental-controls-tos\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">harm<\/a> from AI products.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">When a conversation indicates a user is in a potential crisis related to suicide or self-harm, Gemini already launches a &#8220;Help is available&#8221; module that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/report\/841610\/ai-chatbot-suicide-safety-failure\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">directs users to mental health crisis resources<\/a>, like a suicide hotline or crisis text line.
