In <a href=\"https:\/\/www.documentcloud.org\/documents\/27776175-cbp-tariff-response\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a filing on Friday<\/a>, CBP executive director Brandon Lord says the agency&#8217;s digital import processing system is &#8220;not well suited to a task of this scale,&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2026\/03\/06\/trump-trade-tariffs-refunds-customs-border-protection.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">as reported earlier by CNBC<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">The CBP&#8217;s admission comes after the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scotusblog.com\/2026\/02\/supreme-court-strikes-down-tariffs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Supreme Court struck down the tariffs<\/a> imposed by Trump under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) last month.
