In <a href=\"https:\/\/www.documentcloud.org\/documents\/28104686-doge-chatgpt-ruling\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the 143-page decision<\/a>, US District Judge Colleen McMahon cites DOGE&#8217;s process for eliminating grants, which involved using ChatGPT to determine if something is related to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">The ruling, which stems <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/doge-trump-humanities-executive-order-lawsuit-2b706c8196d3b160a541df36261a662d\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">from a 2025 lawsuit filed by humanities groups<\/a>, says &#8220;it could not be more obvious that DOGE used the mere presence of particular, protected characteristics to disqualify grants from continued funding&#8221; from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH).
